It’s Battle Rap Season Once Again

Tuborg’s Bar 4 Bar finals took place at The Alchemist early last month and one Kenyan Alpha, who was the wild card surprisingly, took home Kshs. 100,000 clinching the top spot. The second position was taken by The LoneWolf, the only female to make it to the top three while FressAllDay, despite putting up a good fight, lost a few rounds towards the end taking home Kshs. 10,000 and the third spot.

If you missed this battle, worry not because we have the ultimate plan for you tomorrow, July 7th. Going down at Afro Night Club (former Skyluxx), WiseGuy Entertainment and The Pit have teamed up to host this year’s first edition of 254 Battle Rap.

The battle features Kenyan Alpha AKA “The Tuborg Kid” who will go up against Harry Lee, Qina vs. Sharp MC and Cafu Da Truth and Shahidi Xcalibur make a comeback from last year’s show to battle each other live on stage.

Last year’s judges, Xtatic, Mwafreeka and Vee Eye Cee also make a return to this year’s battle as judges.

Speaking of  the challenges involved in battle rap in Kenya, one of the event organizer’s Ondu StreetLawyer, said that it’s a concept not too many Kenyans are familiar with which forces him to  have the same artists on different shows sometimes. He urges more artists who would love to get into battle rap to do it because it is a decent way to make a living.

A VIP ticket costs Kshs. 1500 and will earn you a signed copy of Khaligraph’s new album. All tickets are available on MyMookh.

I’m very excited to be a part of this and cannot wait to have a good time with you tomorrow night. Grab a ticket or two and come support KE Hip Hop. 🙂
